GluMetrics, Inc.
dapCS is working in partnership with academia and
the healthcare industry to bring glucose sensing technology to the marketplace
in the area of diabetes management and hospital intensive care. We participated
in the formation and funding of GluMetrics, Inc. (formerly GluMetrics, LLC) to shepherd this effort
from an academic research project to a life-saving healthcare product.
GluMetrics was founded by an academician who has worked with AdapCS
in building a company that can meet the needs of this exciting partnership
between academia and industry. GluMetrics, Inc. is composed of investors,
academic and industrial researchers and administrative staff, totaling
over 15 professionals in all.
In UCSC's Department of Chemistry, Professor Bakthan Singaram
and his research team developed a unique substance that glows in
the presence of sugar. This boron-based polymeric material is GluMetrics' core technology, and is capable
of detecting and measuring the blood sugar level of hospitalized patients and diabetics in a way that will enable physicians to deliver
higher quality care than has ever before been achieved. This substance
has long been sought after as the "missing link" in the development
of an artificial pancreas, which is likely to be the next major breakthrough
in bionic physiology.
GluMetrics represents a very real opportunity for investors,
researchers and entrepreneurs to do what they do best - create value -
and to enjoy the rewards they deserve in bringing this marvelous advancement
into the everyday lives of diabetics and others world wide. AdapCS is
proud to be a part of that effort. For more information visit the GluMetrics
website at www.glumetrics.com.
